Granted, the use of a pressure cooker is getting used to for beginners. But all you need to know is in our pressure cooker Test 2019. Here we not only answer the most important questions about the pot, but also compare nine different pressure cookers from the trade. So you can find out which of the pots is best for you.

In addition to the conventional pressure cooker, there are also adventurous models that are suitable for the microwave or can be the savior on camping holidays. All important information is also available in our Pressure Cooker Test 2019

The essentials in brief

The pressure cooker is known as pressure cooker, pressure cooker and pressure cooker known and is considered particularly reliable, practical and useful.
With a classic or electric pressure cooker, you can bring your food to the table faster and easier, even if you argue in cooking that you wanted to save energy and time.

Cooking with a pressure cooker in the microwave is a new and unique cooking method. A pressure cooker with induction bottom is a remarkable way to save energy and absorb heat. Camping pressure cookers are ideal for warm and home cooked meals.

Where can I buy a pressure cooker and how much does it cost?

If you want to buy saucepans and put your focus on a pressure cooker, you will already find in the search that the prices are quite different and you can find many suppliers. In a large price study, we examined a total of 120 products from the pressure cooker category to give you an overview. You can see the results here in our graph. Find out in our guide whether a product of the higher or lower price range is suitable for you.  Pressure cookers cost between about 40 and 500 euros, offer a different capacity and accessories.

Why do I need the inserts of a pressure cooker?

A pressure cooker has a steamer insert, so you can cook food at different levels and separately. You can cook many different ingredients together, including foods that require less cooking time. When operating electrical equipment, you must be careful and follow the instructions.

Since the heat transfer with steam happens in the pressure cooker, steam only condenses on the food in the heating phase and drips off. Therefore, there is a perforated insert from which the condensate can drain off again. Exceptions are, for example, rice or spelled, which are prepared with water without perforated insert, so that they can absorb enough water.

Are there any spare parts for the pressure cooker? When is he broken?

Before buying a pressure cooker, you should check with the manufacturer for replacement parts. Often valves and sealing rings show signs of wear after several years of use and must be replaced. If steam leaks between the edge of the kettle and the pot, a defective rubber seal may be responsible. The reason may be an incomplete closure of the lid.

Refrain from any further cooking and let the pot check. Another cause may be contamination of the valve. In this case, first use the safety valve to relieve the pressure. In order to avoid problems like the ones just mentioned, please read the instructions carefully before use. Before and after each cooking, check the seals, the cap and the valves.

Decision: Which types of pressure cookers are available and which one is right for you?

The different types of pressure cookers make it especially easy to make your food faster and easier to serve, even when you argue in cooking that you wanted to save energy and time.

Depending on the situation, you can prepare something with a pressure cooker. It is very easy to use, only at the beginning you have to get familiar with it. For this we present to you all the above-mentioned types of pressure cookers before and clearly, in which each their advantages and disadvantages.

What exactly is a classic pressure cooker and what are the advantages and disadvantages?

The pressure cooker is known as pressure cooker, pressure cooker and pressure cooker known and is considered particularly reliable and practical. A classic pressure cooker is therefore a cooking appliance that is hermetically sealed so that the steam or liquids can not escape during cooking. The cooking succeeds in this state, that is with pressure, in much shorter time than in the simple pot. The foods maintain the same nutritional value and taste.

How does an electric pressure cooker work and what are its advantages and disadvantages?

The revolutionary pressure cooker offers extra functions for the cooking process. Even visually, you realize that the electric pressure cooker differs from other cooking pots. You will not want to miss the electric pressure cooker any more. You do not need a stove with an electric pressure cooker. You prepare your dishes without a stove.

Automatic menu programs: For example, if you choose the soup program of the electric pressure cooker, it will cook for about 30 minutes. Then allow it to cool for a while so that the clip opens to vent. Then you can enjoy your delicious soup.
Adjustable pressure: You have the option to regulate the pressure flexibly low, medium and high. This is for example practical for dishes where overcooking should be avoided. You can cook slowly and gently with little pressure.

We have already discussed in detail some features such as the capacity of a pressure cooker. Nevertheless, we would like to point out once again that the capacity is an important criterion when purchasing a pressure cooker, because it usually influences the result.

By volume, you know approximately how many portions you can prepare using the pressure cooker. Which amount you decide when shopping depends on how many people, for example, live in your household or for what occasions you will need your pressure cooker.

Product weight and diameter

The weight of a pressure cooker depends on the material used. The advantage of heavier cooking pots, however, is that the heat is stored better, allowing you to turn off the cooker faster and save energy. If you want to enjoy home-cooked food at a campsite, a camping pressure cooker is ideal for you, even if you do not want to carry a heavy backpack. It is easy to use and easier to carry.

Note also the diameter of the floor. If your pressure cooker is smaller than the hob of the hob, you waste a lot of energy. However, if the saucepan is larger, it will not heat evenly. Even with the pressure cooker with induction bottom diameter is an important purchase criterion. Since induction pressure heads use heat from the floor to the outside walls of the unit, make sure that the handles do not get too hot and, in the worst case, burn you.

Heat settings

With a pressure cooker you act in your kitchen environmentally conscious, because you save a lot of energy compared to conventional cooking methods. In many cases, the pressure cooker reduces your cooking time by 60 to 70% and ensures that more vitamins and minerals are retained in the natural ingredients.
Mainly, most pressure cookers consist of two cooking levels. The pomace is intended for delicate foods such as fine vegetables and fish.

Is a pressure cooker suitable for baby food?

Long boiling causes the greatest loss of vitamins because the food stays hot for a long time and most of the vitamins are water soluble. In a pressure cooker, the resulting vapor can not escape by containing all the ingredients. The preparation of baby food plays an important role. In order to preserve as much of the vitamins and nutrients as possible for your baby, it is better to cook in a pressure cooker with water that is as warm as possible.
